SNOWMAGGEDON II:

Sisters and Central Oregon are digging out from a serious winter storm.  The storm dumped record amounts of snow beginning on February 24, more than two weeks ago.  The storm brought downed trees, avalanches on the mountain passes, collapsed roofs, school and government closures, automobile accidents and very cold temperatures.  In fact, Sisters dipped below zero last night… brrr.  The last storm of this magnitude was two years earlier, in February 2017, then dubbed “snowmageddon”.  The 2019 storm has been aptly dubbed by some as Snowmageddon II.  As the temperatures warm to the mid-40s, we can expect to see snow melting as spring begins soon, with the Spring Equinox on March 20.  I know that most central Oregonians will welcome spring, although winter sports enthusiasts may be sad to see such an epic skiing and snowboarding year come to a close.
