Join us for Summer Sunday Nights on the patio with Brandon Campbell Trio Sunday, July 30! Free, 6-8pm, and all ages.
Brandon Campbell grew up in Orange County, California and began playing the guitar at age 15. A decade later he moved to Hollywood, CA and in 1998 founded the “The Graveyard Farmers”. The band successfully combined Rockabilly, Blues, Punk, late-night horror, and opened for such luminaries as Link Wray, The Blasters, The Damned, The Stray Cats, L7, The Knitters, and Exene Cervenka. His songs from that project have appeared in such films as “The Hillside Strangler”, “Liars’ Poker’, “Haunting Desires”, “The Lair”, and “Bikini Frankenstein”. In 2002, famous burlesque star Dita Von Teese volunteered and starred in their video “Kiss Your Ass Goodbye”.
Shortly after dissolving The Graveyard Farmers and relocating to a remote mountain town north of Los Angeles, Campbell began delving into the music of Gypsy Swing and the guitarist Django Reinhardt. With his penchant for mystery and the macabre, Brandon began forming his own take on the style, attempting to create something that could be beautiful and passionate, yet still flirt with darkness and occasional humor.
In 2010, Brandon released the album “Ten from the Galley” which contained nine of his original compositions that he recorded in his home studio, playing all of the instruments himself.
Brandon Campbell’s latest album, “Mishap in the Foyer”, was released in October 2018 and contains ten more of his original instrumental compositions. Again, Campbell recorded in complete isolation and played all of the instruments himself including two that he built – a cardboard upright bass, and the “Clairvoyachord”.
The Brandon Campbell Trio are:
Brandon Campbell – Guitar
Brian Hickey – Upright Bass
