EASTER TRIVIA

I thought I would share some fun trivia about Easter.  It is a ‘movable feast’ which corresponds with the first Sunday following the full moon after the March equinox.  Most historians agree that Easter was originally a pagan festival.  However, they disagree about which pagan festival evolved into Easter. The most widely-practiced customs on Easter Sunday relate to the symbol of the rabbit (‘Easter bunny’) and the egg.   The rabbit was a symbol associated with the beginning of Springtime. Likewise, the egg has come to represent Spring, fertility and renewal.  The Encyclopedia Britannica  explains that the egg as a symbol of fertility and of renewed life goes back to the ancient Egyptians and Persians.

Whatever your Easter traditions and beliefs are, this year we hope you will join us for a celebration that everyone can enjoy!
